How Can I Increase Web Traffic Visitors to My Site

Plan For Your Web Business Traffic Success
Those desiring to make money on The Internet must solve the perennial (constant) problem faced by Internet marketers, of 'how can I increase web traffic, or visitors to my web site or blog?' This question must be answered once and for all, because, simply put:
increased traffic = more money to deposit into your bank account.
There are several clear steps that you must take to get more people visiting your web properties and this applies to blogs as well as to any type of web site, including static and dynamic web sites. It applies also to web 2.0 pages such as hub pages and lenses.
Perhaps the most important step is the first one: choosing your title and filename after carrying out some intuitive 'keyword research.' Notice that I chose 'how can I increase web traffic visitors to my site.' This is a string of words that actually contains several highly searched for key phrases. You need to get this first step right as it makes the following steps easier. You need to put yourself into the searcher's shoes (or mindset?) and reflect back, in your title, exactly what their need or want is, in their own words and in their 'what's in it for me?' frame of reference.
Within your own subject or topic area, you'll probably do better by starting with a 'How To ..' line of thought in your title. Research a bit around the ideas of 'how can I' and 'how do I' do something.
Next we'll take a look at your own mindset, motivation and reasons why you want this massive increase in website traffic and visitors. Without this understanding, you probably won't reach your traffic target and your goals.
As You Thinketh, so it Will Happen. No Question!
Your Reason Why & Affirmation
Some might scoff at this psychological section but I find it absolutely essential for my web traffic success. That's because you need to maintain your focus, and I'm easily distracted. You need to focus on your precise web traffic goal. Let's select 25,000 unique visitors per month to a specific web page or product offer, as indicated in the diagram below.
Now what's motivating you to achieve this? For me, I want to purchase the $475,000 house in Western Australia that I'm currently living in. Never be put off by numbers. Focus instead on your desire, mindset and your unlimited, sub-conscious emotional powers!
You can do this! And I'm going to share with you my latest, highly energized affirmation that will almost certainly cause your total success in this effort to generate more traffic and visitors to your web site. Here is the web building affirmation to repeat and believe in:
"I am PROUD to see a vivid image of 25,000 visitors to my web site, each and every month!" (in my cPanel or other web statistics display, such as Aw Stats, etc.)
Now think this affirmation ten thousand times. Write it out and say it aloud. Make a 'mind movie' of it. Repeat it -- till it happens!
The Geoff Dodd Web Traffic Plan
Below is a sketched outline drawing of my specific plan to answer the question of ...
How Can I Increase Web Traffic and Visitors to My Site?
- The first step is to take advantage of linking from any existing network of sites that are on the same subject or 'theme,' as your site. The older these sites are, the better. I use some sites that were originally built in 1997 and in the year 2000 as the search engines tend to regard these surviving sites as 'trustworthy, authority sites.' The higher PR or Google Page Rank of these linking-in sites, the better!
- The second requirement is relevant articles in article directories, such as EzineArticles.com and GoArticles.com and ArticlesBase.com, all pointing to your desired target web site or blog. Press Releases at sites such as PRweb.com can have an even more powerful effect - but for a shorter, 'newsworthy' time. These online press releases can create a 'buzz.'
- Web 2.0 properties such as Hubpages.com, Squidoo.com and the thousands of social bookmarking sites can be utilized to provide incoming links to your target web site. Be sure to follow their guidelines and comply with the rules so as not to be banned for life as a spammer. Write socially valuable and relevant material only.
- Videos and syndication (sharing) of videos. Create brief, simple videos about How-To topics using power point type of presentations, with a 'voice-over' audio track. You've probably downloaded a lot of videos at Youtube.com which is potentially a source of massive web traffic. One trick is to paste your website URL into the brief description that you write about your video. Another trick is to display your web site in the last few frames of each video. MetaCafe.com is another video sharing site, and there are several sites that will broadcast your videos out to many video sharers and syndicators. Do a Google search for 'video syndication.'
- RSS syndicators will share your RSS feeds across The Internet if you are running a blog or if you've learned how to create RSS feeds from HTML pages. Visit HTML2RSS.com for ideas about really simple syndication. Also see FeedBurner.com.
- Visit Google Trends to work out which current topics, subjects, events and fashions you can 'piggyback' on. Develop new key phrases to make your web pages fashionable, relevant and 'buzz-worthy.' Go along with news items and Twitter trends as well.
- Pay Per Click. Be very careful at sites such as Google Adwords and Yahoo Search Marketing. Test and track everything you do at the keyword level, watching your hard-earned funds as they disappear. Are you getting a return on your investment? Don't do PPC blindly.
- PPV or CPV. Again, take a lot of care at 'pay per view' sites. Luckily, each 'view' of your web page should only cost one or two cents. Measure the results and observe very closely. A good site to start with is Directcpv.com.
- Media Buys. Finally, you can purchase banner ad space on busy sites like Yahoo! Make the subject relevant to the typical visitor to that site or web page. The most effective banners are text based with multiple lines and many ideas being flashed out in words, rather than merely being static pictures. Words sell to prospects much better because they can enter the prospect's sub-conscious.

Final Thoughts and Summary
So there you have my current web traffic plan. If you take away one thing from all of this, just note to yourself that web site promotion is more important - and takes more work - than website design and building. The actual keywords focused on are critical. The strength of inbound links is all-important for determining your search engine ranking. So have I successfully and adequately answered your question of, how can I increase web traffic and visitors to my site?

Obviously, this is just the beginning.. it points out to you that you create more and more sources of web traffic - as shown by the square boxes - that all point in towards one central web page. Total visitor numbers would then sky rocket to the central point. Link building is continuous and should never stop. Focus on higher quality links and CONTENT.
